Black Country Communion - 'BCC IV'

Words by Emma Reynolds
There is something extremely classic in the new release from Black Country Communion BCC IV as this supergroup band of brothers stick to what they know, but kick it in the side with a pair of steel toe boots.
Opener Collide enters in with an amazing guitar solo, shooting straight through you with a unity between guitar and bass creating an unearthly and piercing first impression on the listener.
The band has a classic American rock vibe about them; husky voices and relentless drumming, Bonham style. Over My Head is slightly more pop-rock than classic with Glen Hughes' signature high pitched multi-range vocal combined with a smooth background noise.
Some of the titles fit a gothic feel with The Last Song For My Resting Place, although it opens with a country style solo, and The Crow, as well as the smoky, fire-like image on the cover of a phoenix rising up from the ashes.
The afore mentioned being highlights, Awake is more of a ballad which makes you feel exactly what the artists are singing about; an extremely emotive track.
Watch BCC reign once again and be reassured that they never disappoint, on record or live. Catch them at their mini UK tour.
