Piston - 'Piston'

Words by Adrian Ball
Piston is a British blues-rock band, influenced by new and old like Rival Sons, The Temperance Movement, Aerosmith and The Small Faces; an immediately attention-grabbing combination.
After initially storming the music scene, the band removed themselves from the spotlight to write a new album. Now, after a highly successful performance at Ramblin’ Man Fair, UK dates with Collateral planned, plus the Planet Rock Roadstars tour with Hannah Wicklund and the Stepping Stones and Gorilla Riot in October, they are back with a vengeance and ready to strut their stuff.
The self-titled debut album is well worth the eager wait, covering a range of styles from the sleazy, glam origins of Dynamite with its crunchy guitar and classic anthemic chorus, to the single Rainmaker;  a classy song shining bright on an album full of twinkling stars.  It’s immediately catchy and just demands your full attention.
This album gets your head shaking, feet stomping and horns waving from start to finish. There’s rock anthems galore and whether slow or at full speed, Piston deliver rock ‘n’ roll with dirty swagger.
Here is a band on the rise and a must-purchase ticket for the UK tour around the time of the album release in September.
