The boys inspired by all things mighty in rock and penned as the “future of rock ‘n’ roll” are back with a long anticipated second album, Inglorious II.
The modest title is enough needed to represent this collection of new tunes, which are all just as punchy, in your face and goose bump inducing as the last album.
I Don’t Need Your Loving builds with delicious temptation until it explodes with full force. Powerful vocals lift it to dizzying heights, dually backed up by the already unmistakeable sound of Andreas Eriksson’s swag-filled six string duties; it feels like an old classic.
Taking The Blame and Read All About It are equally as boisterous; the latter already a rock radio favourite, while Making Me Pay shows a softer side, allowing soulful, blues stained melancholy to show its face. These are offerings that exude diversity yet stick with a signature style that has already been established in their short, three year career.
You think Tell Me Why is going the same way, until it jumps out from behind its ballad façade, revealing another ballsy, Gibson driven track. In similar vein, and with a definitive stamp from producer Kevin Shirley, Change Is Coming, Hell Or High Water and No Good For You all have subtle openings that build with gusto. Guitars warble until they release rumbling groans, added with rock screeches aplenty and the impressive backbone that comes from Phil Beaver on drums and Col Parkinson on explosive bass makes for one hell of an exciting listen
Whether fast paced rocking or slow-burning seduction, each track is injected with passion to the core and is dripping with the blood, sweat and tears of a hard working band. The future is bright for this lot whether you like it or not and the stadiums won’t be able to resist extending a warm welcome.
