Words by Adrian Ball
Fugitive are bringing their new line-up to the scene and on the basis of their upcoming album The Awakening, will be around for many years to come. Playing across numerous festivals including HRH Ibiza and HRH AOR they have been welcomed by press and fans alike delivering a mature, well-oiled sound. Based in the music city of Liverpool, this New Wave of Classic Rock band will transport you back to the golden era of rock. The band is Al Catraz (drums), Michael Angel (vocals / guitar), David Steele (bass / backing vocals) and Rank 'Chip' Veltro (lead guitar).
This is a glorious album full of character, with magnificent guitar work and melodies galore. The guitars range from intimate solos to catchy riffs that get your feet tapping and head nodding. The vocals are clean and shine brightly throughout. At times, the songs have a haunting effect that removes you from your current surroundings and carry you slowly and carefully away with the music.
Highlights are many, including the classy rockin' Message which is a stunning classic rock track, the hard hitting Slave to Love with its edgy and fast opening riffs. All Fired Up has the band in full flow to the extent that you can even picture them rocking out on stage or igniting amplifiers around the world.
If you like home-grown classic rock then this is an album well worth adding to your collection.
Thanks for taking the time to support the band and review the music! Much appreciated!
