Laurence Jones - ‘The Truth’

Words by Adrian Ball
The Truth is the fifth release to date by the British blues rock guitarist and singer song writer, Laurence Jones.  Bringing the blues to the masses, this album showcases the outstanding talent of a young musician whose skill with a guitar and vocal delivery belies his young age.  Labelled as “the future of the blues”, this is testament to that.
The guitar playing is beautiful in every way from the opening track to the very last moment with a mix of rock, pop, blues and soulful, hooking you into every note. With this pop/rock fusion style comes an outstanding vocal performance that sparkles like the super star that Laurence is.  A voice as smooth and silky as melted chocolate, it’s soothing to the ears and allows your mind to drift away and savour every element that has been lovingly created for our enjoyment.
Each song is well deserving of a place on this well-crafted album, from the stunning and emotive opener What Would You Do through to the rocking, hip swinging Give Me Your Time.  The band and backing vocals adds volumes of feel, groove and passion that only add to the confident delivery.
An outstanding album and the prospect of hearing the tracks performed live heightens the excitement for the spring 2018 tour.
