EP Review: Dead Man’s Whiskey - ‘Breakout’

Words by Adrian Ball

Dead Man’s Whiskey are ready to Breakout with the new EP, to be released on Friday 1st October 2021.  The 5-piece London hard rock band are back and ready to show everyone what they’ve been missing.

Sleep When I’m Dead is a rocking opening track, setting the tone for what is a cracking EP that shows off the many talents of the band.  Thunderous riffs and a solid back-beat take over from the outset, and when the vocals of Nico Rogers kick in, you are really treated to a full-flavoured blend of rock.

I Am Here continues in the same vain again, showcasing the vocal strengths.  The song has a heavier feel that builds up from the very first notes, building the excitement making you just want to hear more.

Title track Breakout really stands out with its anthem-like, sing-a-long chorus, big guitars, drums and vocals, making this a song that would hold its own on the biggest of rock stages.

Never End has a really catchy riff and chorus that you feel fully engaged with immediately.  Feet start to tap, head begins to nod - this song really gets you hooked and is delivered with a level of ferocity that is second to none.

Make You Proud (Piano Version) is a slower, more delicate approach. It makes you sit up a listen to the carefully constructed delivery that’s built over the beautifully played piano and stunning vocals.

With this EP Dead Man’s Whiskey are going to catch everyone’s attention.
