The Sleep Eazys (A Joe Bonamassa project) - ‘Easy to Buy - Hard to Sell’

Words by Adrian Ball
Joe Bonamassa is set to release Easy to Buy – Hard to Sell  in April, the new album from his latest  project The Sleep Eazys.  This self- produced, instrumental album includes some of his frequent collaborators as well as his all-star touring band. It’s a departure from his usual style but is to honor one of Joe’s most influential mentors, the pioneer of ‘redneck jazz’ guitarist Danny Gatton, as well as covering instrumental versions of his other favorite artists such as Frank Sinatra and king Curtis.
The album is a gem; a full-on set of stunning tunes to feed the soul, put a smile on your face and remind you of what a superb talent Joe is.
The first single Bond (On Her Majesty’s Secret Service) is a nod to the 1969 classic movie and sets the tone. From the brass section to the masterful guitar playing throughout, this really does impress on every level.  The album is so beautifully put together, the songs flow seamlessly throughout.  Influences are far and wide, from jazz to funk, bluegrass to blues and rockabilly. The full band with its wide variety of instruments fills your listening space and surroundings with a magnificent spread of sound.
This is an album full of joy, as well as being of the highest caliber with the combined expertise of the musicians involved, and serves to lift the mood of any listener.  This album will grab your attention whether you’re a Bonamassa fan, big band fan or frankly just a fan of music. Thanks Joe for bringing something different to the table and absolutely nailing it yet again.
