H.E.A.T - H.E.A.T II

The Swedish love of melodic rock is strong in H.E.A.T and thankfully they are sharing it with the UK. Across seven years they have lead the way, playing to thousands of fans whenever and wherever they could.
Having toured with Toto, Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy , and surviving a few line-up changes with Swedish Idol” winner Erik Grönwall now on lead vocals, they are blowing audiences away with their live shows and are on a roll with one great release after another.

Their latest album H.E.A.T II is released on Friday 21st Feb and is perfectly timed for the revival of melodic rock with a younger audience paying attention; and with the band themselves full of the energy of youth, they’re keeping the flame roaring.

Are you listening to a band who have established a career over 30 years? Who have a back catalogue of sing-along mega-hits? No, but do you care? You will get just the same thrill – bold statement or not.

The album is packed with power and excitement, with a hugely respectful nod to their nostalgic influences, but worthy of tomorrow’s rock radio playlist. Victory is a prime example of fresh and sprightly vocals, the guitar work from Dave Dalone is relentlessly growling above the exhausting talents of Don Crash on drums and Jimmy Jay on bass.

Rock Your Body and Dangerous Ground are easy listens in the best way, flowing with creative juices, and We Are Gods commands authority in its sheer boldness.

One By One offers sweet, intrepid riffage and a harmonised lyrical story to sing your lungs out to.

Ballad Nothing to Say has the obvious expected vigor and thank God for Jona Tee on keys –it adds something to a band that can’t be replaced. It wouldn’t be the same without him.

The Planet Rock playlisted Rise is a glorious finish, requiring nothing of the listener but to sit back and let the magical flow of AOR delights wash over your senses. That’s the great thing about this album, it’s instantly likeable and incredibly fun.

The band will play three exclusive shows in the UK in May 2020 with British rock band VEGA, award winning band Mason Hill and 4-piece Collateral. The four bands will play Wolverhampton KK’s Steel Mill (May 28), the London Garage (May 29) and Swansea Patti Pavilion (May 30).
